SANG A IM-PROPP - BIOGRAPHY
Sang A Im-Propp launched her collection of exotic skin and leather accessories in Spring 2006 to rave reviews. Her intricate and exceptional use of alligator, python, and ostrich skins, amongst others, quickly established her as a designer to watch in the luxury accessories market and beyond. Today, she continues to combine a keen interest in intriguing colors, shapes, and textures with an effortless sense of style that has become the trademark of the SANG A namesake collection.
Despite a natural inclination towards fashion, Sang A’s first profession was not in the industry she now calls home. Raised in her native home, South Korea, she started dancing at the age of 10 in youth dance companies that performed on an international level. She continued her studies in dance and began her career as a performer in a wide range of professional musicals where she garnered rave reviews, and continued on to become a successful singer and actress in the Korean entertainment industry. She released three albums on the Samsung Records label and established herself as one of Korea’s most promising celebrities by the young age of 26. Her love for fashion and accessories, however, was ever-present; she would often style her own music videos and photo shoots by creating signature looks which defined her as a style setter throughout Korea and the world.
Upon Sang A’s arrival in New York City, she found herself drawn to a different world: fashion. She decided to pursue these interests and began honing her skills at The Parsons School of Design. Through her → → → |
